In November, Connected Music, were delighted to have Joe Echo sign on the dotted line, and went on to sub-publish him to Australian label, Mushroom. This partnership tied in with a tour of Perth, where Joe performed various gigs including the One Movement for Music Festival. He also supported Paolo Nutini on his Australian tour, which led to him being asked to stay on for the Ireland dates, and as if all this wasn’t enough for one man, he finished the year with his very first headline gig at Academy 2 in Dublin.

After an amazing 2009, Irish singer/songwriter, Joe Echo is hoping for 2010 to be even better – and it’s looking good so far. He started off last year writing his first solo album, managed to fit in a couple of film music scores in between, and then hit the headlines in May, when he co-wrote Madonna’s smash of the early summer, Celebration. Appearances at Liverpool Sound City and Oxegen festival followed later in the summer, along with another high profile collaboration, this time on Paul Oakenfold’s latest album.

Joe Echo is currently gearing up for a busy year ahead.
Australian singer/songwriter and Sound Advice client, Sarah Blasko, has signed a pan-European deal with Dramatico. The independent label will release Sarah’s third album, As Day Follows Night this coming spring. The album has already won the ARIA Best Pop Release in Australia, and Best Female Artist, and it is tipped to triumph in the categories, Album Of The Year and Best Pop Release, for which it is also nominated.

As Night Follows Day was recorded in Sweden with producer Björn Yttling, and had reached gold status within weeks of its Australian release. Sarah’s managers, Bill and Edrei Cullen of One Louder Entertainment say the deal is “a much deserved opportunity...we are delighted to be working with a label who recognise [Sarah’s] vision.” Andrew Bowles, Director of Dramatico speaks of Sound Advice’s involvement in the deal: “Robert at Sound Advice first brought Sarah Blasko to my attention. It took one listen for me to be totally hooked by her beautifully rich vocal tones.”

Sarah Blasko now shares the label with Sound Advice’s other major Australian act, Gurrumul, who is currently at the top spot in the OCC World Music Chart with his self-titled album. Other labels-mates include Katie Melua, Marianne Faithful, Carla Bruni and Florence Rawlings. Sound Advice also represent Australian acts John Butler Trio and Pendulum and Connected management work with Angus and Julia Stone.

Sarah will release a new single in February, to make way for the album launch in March, and is set for a European tour in spring 2010.
